The quaint village of Sainte Foy is well situated on the road connecting Bourg St. Maurice to Val D’Isere in the Tarentaise area of the Savoie department in the Northern Alps. One of the newest additions to the Savoie, Sainte Foy offers only traditionally built surroundings and a perfect alpine ambience, long gone from many of the major resorts nearby. The buildings are built in traditional Savoyard style and many date back several hundred years. The resort remains quiet and unspoilt and has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Only 7 km from Bourg St. Maurice, where the Eurostar Ski Train services stops, Sainte Foy is quick and easy to get to.
Whether your idea of a holiday is special time with family, an adrenaline packed excursion or a relaxing journey Sainte Foy has something to offer you:
In the winter, there is a wide range of skiing available for all abilities. The central location of Sainte Foy gives you access to some of the best skiing the world has to offer where you can ski up to six surrounding resorts including Val D’Isere, Tignes, and Paradiski in one week! It is not surprising that Sainte Foy is referred to as the "Jewel in the Crown" of the French Alps. Should you wish to ski locally, the local ski area offers 35km of lift served runs and 10km of cross country trails. The lower slopes in Ste Foy offer wonderful sweeping ski runs through the trees while the upper slopes provide truly breathtaking descents, both on and off-piste. Sainte Foy is also famous for off-piste terrain. Skiers, boarders and telemarkers alike will revel in the powder just yards from the pistes or amongst the trees, which lasts for days thanks to its north-west facing slopes. The four main lifts give access to pistes from an altitude of 1550m to a massive 2620m, with uncrowded pistes, no lift queues and excellent snow conditions.
Other local winter activities include guided husky sledging, snow shoeing and snowmobiling (ski-dooing). Nearby there are a wealth of other options such as ice climbing, ice diving and ice skating to name a few!
In the summer the resort is just as animated. Sainte Foy’s stunning location gives breathtaking views of the Tarentaise valley below and you can experience the amazing terrain Sainte Foy has to offer - whether on foot or bike, the mountains are yours to explore. Local summer pursuits include helicopter rides, horse riding, farm visits (where you can discover the ancient art of cheese making), patisserie classes, tennis and paragliding. Nearby there is a swimming pool and spa and for the more adventurous, why not try some white water sports in the Isere river?
The resort itself is well equipped with its own infrastructure of facilities to ensure your stay is comfortable. It benefits from excellent traditional restaurants, a few entertaining bars, supermarket, ski hire shops and ski school.
