At 2330m above sea level, Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe. Thanks to its six impressive glaciers, the resort provides doorstep skiing on guaranteed snow, which makes it an ideal base for keen skiers and families. The extensive local slopes suit all abilities, and with quick access to the rest of the vast Three Valleys, there is always something new to ski no matter what your level.
The village itself is one of the better designed high-altitude stations of the Three Valleys, with a variety of smart lodgings and quality restaurants. At the heart of the resort is the snowy Place de Caron, where pedestrians mix with skiers and snowboarders. The shops, bars and restaurants are clustered here - along with the best hotels - and the sports and leisure centres are nearby. The resort is also car free.
