This little corner of the Alps is rich in history. Made up of several hamlets, the valley is named after the bears that used to roam this area.
From Vallorcine, you can take the all new cable car straight up into the ski area of Balme-Le Tour. You can then ski back down to the village. The slopes here offer something for all levels and tastes, and skiers can take in views of the Mont Blanc and surrounding mountains. Ski pass holders also have access to the whole of the Chamonix ski area, including Le Brevent, La Flegere, Les Grands Montets and Les Houches.
